The Heritage YMCA Group sponsored "An Evening with Viktoria Vizin"
Saturday at Morton Arboretum's Thornhill Center.
With two young children enrolled in Y programs, Vizin expressed her desire
to "give back" to help the Strong Kids Campaign and the YMCA Children's
Early Learning Campus - and did she ever.
During her benefit performance, accompanied on a grand piano by William
Billingham, assistant conductor of the Lyric Opera in Chicago, an
appreciative audience enjoyed the melodic mezzo-soprano voice of the
Hungarian-born opera singer who can also belt out memorable Gershwin and
Broadway tunes. |
